St. John Lutheran Church
The Tradesmen Group, Inc. was selected by St John Lutheran Church to perform masonry repairs of the Church to address faulty and deteriorated conditions of the brickwork around the building and supporting steel over three gothic arched windows. Work included spot tuckpointing of brick and stone masonry, dismantle of brick over three large gothic arched windows, repair of the supporting steel and reinstallation of brick. Work also included dismantle and reconstruction of the upper portion of the tower turret that buttressed the tower on the north side with salvaged brick and stone and application of new sealant to all skyward joints on capstones of the main gables and towers.
St. Raphael Church
The Tradesmen Group, Inc. was selected to perform extensive scopes of work for roof, architectural sheet metal and masonry rehabilitation of St Raphael Church. Work included replacement of existing shingle roof with a new slate roof and copper gutters to match original. All architectural copper on the building was replaced in kind with new copper replicated to identically match original, including three new gilded crosses on the front of the church. Extensive masonry repairs included considerable reconstruction of back up brick inside the tall tower, stone replacement throughout the structure, stone Dutchman, stone dress back, repointing of mortar joints with ribbon tooled joints and masonry cleaning. TTG also fabricated four new large wood gothic arched window frames for the tall tower bell level, installed new EPDM roofs to both tower bell levels and repainted all windows of the bell towers.
This project was awarded the Preservation Merit Award from the Ohio Historic Preservation Office.
St. Raphael Parish Center
The Tradesmen Group, Inc. was selected to perform extensive masonry repairs & rehabilitation of St Raphael Church Parish Center. Work included large areas of 100% tuckpointing of brick and stone masonry, considerable quantity of brick dismantle for reconstruction and replacement of steel lintels and shelf angles, reconstruction of brick and stone parapet walls, fabrication of new cast stone for replacement of stone units at the parapet walls.

St. Anthony Church
The Tradesmen Group, Inc. was selected to replace the existing Ludowici flat interlocking tile roof of St Anthony Church in Dayton OH. Work scope included removal and replacement of all roof tile and underlayment along with replacement of all associated built-in and hanging copper and lead coated copper gutters, downspouts, flat lock copper soldered seam roofs, EPDM roofs and considerable repairs to deteriorated roof sheathing during progress of the roof removal and replacement.

Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church
The Tradesmen Group, Inc. was selected to rehabilitate tower and cornice of this historic church. Work included repair and painting of original architectural sheet metal and wood features of the cornice and tower structure. Brick masonry on the tower was tuckpointed and cleaned. Work also included fabrication of four new monumental gothic arch wood louvers from composite lumber to match original wood louvers in every detail.

Saint Joseph's Cathedral | Columbus, Ohio
We were honored to serve the Diocese of Columbus in the restoration of its most prestigious historical monument. The Tradesmen Group Self-Performed major renovations to "The Cathedral" including replacement of the decorative copper roofing and built -in gutter system.
A restoration strategy was developed to preserve the stone including tuckpointing, cleaning, stone patching, consolidation and waterproofing.
The gentle nature of restoring a monument of such grandeur was maintained throughout our design phase and through the restoration of this historic building..

Saint John's Evangelical Church | Columbus, Ohio
The Tradesmen Group completed the restoration of the Saint John's Catholic Church in Columbus, Ohio in 2006. This process included masonry preservation, roof repair, sheet metal work.

Saint Therese Retreat Center | Columbus, Ohio
The Tradesmen Group is once again priveledged to work closely with the Diocese of Columbus to restore the Saint Therese Retreat Center in the roof replacement of this historical monument. A roof replacement strategy was implemented using state of the art roofing materials and gutter system.

Saint Paul's Methodist Church | Galion, Ohio
Saint Paul's Methodist Church was restored in 2003. This preservation process consisted of masonry restoration.

Saint Francis de Sales Catholic Church | Newark, Ohio
The Tradesmen Group restored St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Newark, Ohio in 2004. It began with the creation of a restoration strategy, paying close attention to the detail and design of this magnificent structure built in the 1800’s.
The slate roof provided much of the historical significance and character of this building. A new slate roof , historically matching the original in design and style was installed. To replicate the ornamentation of this grand historical structure, our artisans used techniques to duplicate each curve and line of the ornamental sheet metal fixtures.
We replicated the decorative ridge to match the historic profile and restored the ornamental fencing to its original beauty. The decorative finials appearing in original photographs taken in the 1800’s were fabricated and installed at the tops of the towers.

Saint Peter Episcopal Church | Paris, Kentucky
Restored in 2002, The Tradesmen Group replaced the flat lock seam copper roof as well as steeple restoration.

First Christian Church | Paris, Kentucky
The First Christian Church, nestled in horse country near Lexington, KY, was part of a multi-trade restoration project. Repairs to the clay tile roof of this magnificent structure were completed in 2002. The clay tile were blowing up, loosening the nails and as a result, tiles were falling from the over 100 foot towers. Through detailed inspections a restoration strategy was developed to include a new fastening system to prevent future storm damage to the newly replaced tile roof. The roof restoration plan also included a new Carlisle Syntec rubber roof on the flat roof areas.
The second phase of this project included masonry preservation. Again a restoration strategy was developed to include building cleaning and structural stabilization through the pointing of mortar joints and stone repairs. The structural integrity of the decaying stone masonry was improved by Proso Co products manufactured to strengthen stone units. Finally a protective coating of water repellants was applied to prevent water penetration into mortar joints and stone thereby adding life to this magnificent historical monument.

Saint Joseph Catholic Church | Dayton, Ohio
Saint Joseph Catholic Church, located in Dayton, Ohio, was restored in 2002-2003. This restoration process included Terra Cotta Restoration, brick tuckpointing, and masonry cleaning and preservation.

Holy Trinity Catholic Church | Somerset, Ohio
The Holy Trinity Catholic Church contracted with The Tradesmen Group while restoring the Old Perry County Courthouse located one block from the church. We performed emergency work on their decaying steeple back in 2002. We were privileged to work with them again in 2003 on the total restoration of their church, including slate steeple restoration, new shingle roofing and stone and brick restoration. We find satisfaction in knowing that we are a part of the history that will ensure the future of The Holy Trinity Catholic Church.

Good Shepherd Catholic Church | Frankfort, Kentucky
The Good Shepherd Catholic Church was restored by The Tradesmen Group in 2002. Our restoration process included masonry restoration, painting and steeple restoration.

First Christian Church | Warsaw, Kentucky
The Christ Lutheran Church was restored in 2004. The Tradesmen Group performed a restoration strategy that included masonry preservation, painting and sealants.

Christ Lutheran Church | Bexley, Ohio
The First Christian Church was restored in 1997 by The Tradesmen Group. Scope of work included slate roof replacement.

Saint Joseph's Catholic Church | Winchester, Kentucky
This project was the winner of the 2006 IDA Lee Willis Project Award for Historic Preservation by the Kentucky Heritage Council at the Kentucky State Historic Preservation Office.
The Tradesmen Group, Inc. worked closely with a local historic architectural firm and a team of engineers to prepare a restoration strategy for their decaying steeple. The structural stabilization phase included replacement of wood member supports, brick restoration, ornamental sheet metal replication, and new slate roofing. We also provided masonry restoration services and gold leafing on the newly restored cross set at the top of this beautiful historic downtown steeple.

Saint Rose Catholic Church | New Lexington, Ohio
Referred to us by the Holy Trinity Catholic Church, St. Rose Catholic Church contracted with us to provide a complete restoration of their church. The Restoration strategy included restoring the decayed steeple. Pictured here are structural members of the steeple found decayed beyond repair. The Tradesmen Group was able to remedy this situation economically for the Parish Church avoiding costly delays and shut downs.

Holy Cross Catholic Church | Columbus, Ohio
The Tradesmen Group re-built the built-in-gutters and installed new copper gutters and downspout of Holy Cross Catholic Church in 2005.

Saint Luke's Catholic Church | Danville, OH
The Tradesmen Group completed the restoration of Saint Luke's Catholic Church in 2006. This process consisted of Historical Church Preservation including masonry restoration, cleaning, tuck pointing, and steeple repair.

Holy Rosary Catholic Church | Columbus, OH
Currently, The Tradesmen Group is assisting Holy Rosary in the restoration of the tower and main roofs due to wind damage. Gusts of wind tore off the tower roof causing brick and masonry damage to the tower structure. Landing on an adjacent rubber roof, the tower roof also caused damage to the main roof structure and slate roof. An immediate need for structural repairs included carpentry, concrete reinforcement, brick replacement, structural beam, rafter and deck replacement. Rubber roofing, sheet metal replacement, slate roofing, and flat lock seam copper roofing were all part of this multi-trade restoration. The Tradesmen Group employees are all skilled craftsmen in all the afore mentioned trades allowing this varied scope of work to be performed in house.

Grace Lutheran Church | Thornville, Ohio
The restoration strategy used on Grace Lutheran included a standing seam aluminum kynar steeple roof, masonry restoration and waterproofing, completed in 2002.

Saint Mary's Catholic Church | Lancaster, Ohio
The Tradesmen Group is currently fabricating sandstone finials to replicate the badly deteriorated stone finials at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Lancaster, Ohio.
During the stone fabrication process, each curve and even the tiniest of design detail is captured by stone cutters to match the historic profile of each finial. Once the stone carving is completed, The Tradesmen Group will assemble each stone finial piece by piece atop the louvered tower and each gabled end. This work will be completed by only the most experienced stone craftsmen. The restoration will help to ensure the longevity of this historical downtown church.
