In 1949, President Harry Truman consolidated several agencies into one. The new General Services Administration was tasked with, among other things, government property management and providing workplaces for federal employees. Beginning with a major overhaul of the White House in the 1950s, GSA now oversees the preservation of more than 480 historic buildings. As the "keeper of the buildings", GSA has chosen TTG time and again to assist in the important, careful, and precise restoration of many federal buildings and courthouses throughout the Eastern United States.
"Preservation is simply having the good sense to hold on to things that are well-designed, that link us with our past in a meaningful way, and that have plenty of good use left in them."
-Richard Moe, National Trust for Historic Preservation
