The Tradesmen Group, LLC, headquartered in Plain City, Ohio,is seeking a highly qualified and self-motivated Conservator, who is passionate about historic restoration, to join our team. Candidate must have a Masters degree in Historic Preservation, Conservation or related field and demonstrated experience working on materials conservation projects. Must be willing to travel.

As a full-service building rehabilitation/restoration company, TTG self-performs multiple trades including all aspects of historic masonry restoration, roofing, architectural metals, carpentry, painting & more.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Willingness to travel for extended periods to various project sites throughout the United States.
· Performs field condition assessments on a variety of architectural and artistic materials.
· Investigates modes of material deterioration and documents observations in written, photographic, and digital formats.
· Collaborates in company development of conservation treatment programs.
· Prepares condition reports, treatment reports, and maintenance programs.
· Organizes company resources, staffing, and technology required to successfully execute conservation scopes of work.
· Oversees and conducts hands-on implementation of conservation scopes of work on projects in accordance with project specifications and professional standards.
· Assists in the development of project submittals for conservation scopes of work.
· Attend project pre-construction & progress meetings (virtual and in-person)
· Actively collaborates with project management team, site personnel, clients, contractors, and vendors to ensure projects are completed according to project specification, schedule, and budget.
· Provides timely reporting to project management team on scope progress, schedule estimates, and project conditions.
· Assists in the development of project schedules, including master baseline schedules and two-week-ahead schedule for conservation scopes of work.
· Assists in the development of project submittals per project specifications and drawings as well as RFI and Change Order Requests and other administration for conservation scopes of work.
Position Requirements:
· Master’s degree in Historic Preservation, Conservation, or related field.
· Minimum three years of demonstrated experience implementing materials conservation projects.
· Holds Professional designation with the American Institute of Conservation (AIC) or is eligible for application during first year of employment
· Comfortable working outside at heights on scaffolding or aerial lifts.
